Annual Meeting and Election Results
The Section’s Annual Meeting was held on May 9, 2013, and 26 people attended.
The following council members were elected to serve on the Section’s Governing Council from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2014:
Our New Lawyers Section Leadership Council is comprised of the four elected officers and appointed committee chairs and ABA Young Lawyers Division representatives. Samuel Edmunds will be the New Lawyer Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates. Committee Chairs will be appointed by the NLS Chair later this summer.
The following officers were elected to serve on the Section’s Governing Council from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.

Other Section Accomplishments:
- Hosted first annual Young Lawyers Leadership Conference.
- Started diversity pipeline project called GOLaw, which was recognized as first place winner in the ABA YLD’s Next Steps Challenge.
- Created new MSBA award called the Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year Award.
- Created new standing committees for Diversity and Awards.
- Published four editions of Hearsay, our online publication.
- Hosted at least six social events for new lawyers.
- Presented 11 CLEs, 10 of which were free for our members.
- Championed policy position on On-Demand CLE all the way to the Supreme Court of Minnesota.
- Hosted national ABA YLD conference in Minneapolis.
