1996-97 Annual Report
The International Business Law Section concluded a highly successful year.
Utilizing previous surveys of the section membership, the section developed monthly luncheon programs covering a wide variety of member's interests such as: how to conduct international legal research on the Internet; how to negotiate international contracts with foreign governments and procurement agencies; developments in international licensing, with emphasis on the Pacific Rim; developments in United States Custom's practice; and a report on the interaction of tribal law and civil law in African countries.
The section also hosted the American Bar Association's International Law Section annual meeting, at which a number of Minnesota section members either spoke or attended.
The section also held a highly successful Spring Institute on the subject of employment law in the international workplace.
The section also prepared for publication a newsletter, held an annual holiday party, and conducted its annual meeting at its traditional year-end party.
