AILA National Conference Recap CLE
AILA National held its annual conference June 15-18 in San Diego. Join our panel of distinguished local immigration practitioners as they share their highlights of this year's national annual conference. Reports were that this was one of the best national conferences yet! The panelists will be covering legal and administrative developments in the areas of family immigration, business immigration, asylum, and removal defense.
On the topic of business immigration, the panel will discuss recent developments in investment based and employment based non-immigrant statuses and investment and employment based immigrant pathways to permanent residence; and employer enforcement trends.
On the topic of family based immigration, the panel will discuss recent developments and tips in family based immigration, including legal strategies to process waivers, make use of past petitions where the petitioner has died, and address problematic situations in obtaining permanent residence.
On the topic of removal defense and asylum, the panel will discuss recent developments in these areas including memoranda issued by Immigration Customs and Enforcement on the exercise of prosecutorial discretion in charging and pursuing removal of certain undocumented individuals or individuals who have overstayed or otherwise violated their authorized status.
