The MSBA's Family Law Section's Domestic Abuse Committee Presents

"ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES: A panel discussion about what the data shows about childhood trauma and how we can improve lives in the judicial system."Recent brain development research reveals a strong relationship between childhood adversity and trauma and negative adult outcomes, including depression, alcoholism, joblessness, and mental illness. This CLE will explore the basics of childhood trauma, its effects, and how family law attorneys, guardians ad litem, and judicial officers can improve the quality of child and adult outcomes in light of the research.
