Corporate Counsel Section
With more than 450 members, the Corporate Counsel Section (“CCS”) ranks among Minnesota’s most influential attorney organizations. It was formed in 1989 (as the “Corporate Counsel Association of Minnesota”) by Minnesota corporate attorneys to provide members with the opportunity to build contacts, improve their legal knowledge, and learn from high-profile speakers, community members, and politicians. CCS members practice in corporate legal departments and private law firms.
Corporate Counsel Section Mission Statement:
To provide section members with the opportunity to build their professional relationships with corporate legal departments and private law firms, improve their legal knowledge and offer legal services to the community.
The CCS provides these services through continuing legal education
seminars held by high-profile speakers and community leaders, community-oriented fundraising events, social/networking gatherings and outreach programs.
Annual Meeting
The Corporate Counsel Section held its annual meeting on Thursday, May 17. The

Counsel’s Governing Council held elections for three
open spots on its Council. The outgoing Chair Hanna
Wolf was reelected to the Council, as was newcomer
Kristen Larson. The two will each serve three year terms. A third position is open and available if any
current members would like to run. If you are so interested, please contact Chair Hanna Wolf at hwolf@datarecognitioncorp.com or Vice-Chair Ryan Kaplan at rkaplan@virtuslaw.com. An election for the third open seat will be held on June 21st

Following the annual meeting was the spring networking event. 63 people attended. The
food was provided by D’Amico itchen and the event was accompanied by great, live music
provided by Jack Klatt & the Cat Swingers, a ragtime and blues band.
Brent Routman, the current president of the
Minnesota State Bar Association, also attended and provided a few comments.
With great food, fun music, and the perfect location,
this networking event and meeting went off without a hitch and was a wonderful chance for members of the Corporate Counsel Section to meet one another. We hope to see you at the next event!
