Travel Scholarship

Travel scholarships are granted to qualified Japanese-English bilingual undergraduate, graduate students and experienced professionals to help defray the costs of attending the Career Forum. Only limited number of applicants can receive the scholarship, but in the past, many candidates who did not receive a scholarship have come to the Career Forum on their own expenses and successfully landed a job. Below is an estimate of the maximum amount you may receive if you are selected as a travel scholarship recipient. The amount is determined by the state you reside during the school year, or the state where you currently reside, if you have already graduated.

Zone1: $50 MA (Except 617 Area Code)
Zone2: $75 CT, ME, NH, RI, VT
Zone3: $100 NJ, NY, PA
Zone4: $150 DC, DE, MD, WV, VA
Zone5: $175 AL, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MI, MS, NC, OH, SC, TN, WI, Canada (NB, NF, NS, ON, PEI, PQ)
Zone6: $250 AR, IA, KS, LA, MN, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD, Canada (MB, SK)
Zone7: $350 AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, TX, UT, WA, WY, Canada (AB, BC), International
  • Qualifications
    1. Graduate from a degree program by 6/30/2015.
    2. Must attend the Boston Career Forum 2013 at least two days.
    3. Read and agree to the "Travel Scholarship Statement" below.

    August 5th (Mon.) - October 24th (Thu.) (US Eastern Time)
  • Important Notice
    We will only contact those candidates whom we have selected as travel scholarship candidates via My CFN page. Candidates who do not receive an email notification via My CFN Inbox by October 30th, 2013, unfortunately were not selected for this year's scholarship. Given many career opportunities available at the Career Forum, we strongly encourage you to attend the Career Forum even without the scholarship.

    The travel scholarship will be awarded after 2:00PM on the second and after 10:00AM on the third day of the Career Forum. To receive the scholarship, qualified participants must attend the Career Forum at least two days.

    You must bring:
    - your name badge
    - valid ID (e.g. driver's license, student ID or passport)

    * If your ID does not reflect your current address registered to CFN, please make sure to bring another document that proves your current address (e.g. utility bill, cell phone bill statement, mail from school).
  • Travel Scholarship Statement
    1. I understand that the information on my resume will be used to determine my eligibility for DISCO International's Travel Scholarship Program. I certify that the information on my resume is true and accurate and that if such information is found to be false, I will immediately forfeit my travel scholarship eligibility. Additionally, I understand that all participating companies will be notified of any false representation.
    2. I understand that in order to collect my travel scholarship I must attend the Boston Career Forum 2013 at least two days.
    3. I understand that if for any reason I cannot participate in the Boston Career Forum 2013, I will notify DISCO International immediately.
